It includes a lot of stitching features too, which is one of the things that sets it apart from its competitors.

Juki has made a name for themselves for pushing out some of the best quality products on the market. They've been in business a while, and have great access to support and accessories on their website.

What You Should Know About The Juki MO 735

But first off, you should know that the Juki is what’s known as a serger. It’s a little different from a conventional sewing machine, and may take some getting used to. But if you’ve used a serger before, you’ll know that sergers do many of the same actions at a faster pace. This may be just the ideal machine for you then if you can navigate the machine and set it up properly.
We know that the price is high on this Juki sewing machine though, so let’s check out all the features that make it worthy of your investment.

You’re buying a sewing machine to stitch. It only makes sense to get a machine like the Juki with good stitching capabilities. The Juki has a number of different stitching styles - a total of 24. This means that you can sew almost any type of stitch, whether you’re looking for something decorative or more industrial. We used it with any type of stitch and any type of fabric so rest assured that you can sew whatever you have in mind from curtains to clothing.
Speaking of stitching, you should know that you have a 2-3-4 stitching variety with this Juki, and that you can stitch 1500 stitches per minute. From our experience, this is about two times as fast as a conventional sewing machine. So if you have some experience with sewing machines and can sew quickly, you’ll love how the Juki works.

The threading in the Juki is meant to be easy, and this is because it uses lay-in threading. Basically, the whole system is color-coded. We absolutely loved this because it means that you don’t have to deal with making little mistakes when you’re doing your setup.
You can also utilize the automatic looper threading, so all you have to do is place the thread into its spot and put the looper in its place. Overall, threading is a much simpler process.

Presser Foot

This is one of the unique features of this Juki. The presser foot itself has a lifter to help give you more clearance below the machine. This means that you can work more easily with thick fabrics or multiple layers of fabric without struggling too much. All we had to do was adjust the presser foot dial to our specifications.
Speaking of the presser foot, know that it’s also multi-function. You can create overlock stitches or add ribbon, tape, elastic, and any other unique materials you have in mind. Switch your presser foot if you’d like, or change it from one mode to another depending on what you would like to sew.

We loved the Juki MO735 for its flexibility; it includes a built-in seam guide that helped us quickly figure out our seam allowances. You can also use the dial to adjust the lower knife cutting width, and can move the upper arm out of your way to give you more room for sewing.
We found this to be especially helpful when it comes to sewing multiple layers of fabric or thicker materials. It was great too that all we had to do was push a button to make the adjustments.
It’s easy to adjust the width of the seam too, since all you have to do is turn the dial. This will cut the material to your specific preference so that you can get the ideal seams and rolled edges that you’re looking for.

Knife System

You want some consistent cutting when you work so that all of your projects come out looking as good as they possibly can. With the knife, which is made to be durable and strong, you can cut any fabric of any thickness or texture without a problem.
We thought that it was very cool that the knife works at the same speed as the needle, which means that you’ll be able to get smooth cuts.

Safety Options

A good sewing machine should be able to keep you safe while you’re working. That’s why this Juki has a micro safety switch that is located on the front and side of the unit. This prevents the serger from working when the covers are open, so if you’re doing something tricky, this switch will help.

Pros and Cons

This sewing machine does happen to be a little more expensive than some other options, so before you buy, you’ll want to know everything about it. Let’s go through some pros and cons then based upon our experience sewing with the Juki.

Easy Threading

Thanks to the threading system, we found that it wasn’t too difficult to get started. You can use the automatic looper threading to snap the thread into place without too much trouble. If you’re having a little trouble with the threading too, there are many YouTube videos out there that are meant to help.

Stitching Variety

When you buy a sewing machine like this, you want variety in your stitches. This Juki includes an option to convert your stitch to a coverstitch if you want to do serging and hemming for any type of knit projects. We were also able to do some decorative seaming too.
The stitching is durable too. You can use the 3-thread overlock with the 2-thread chainstitch to secure your professional seams. If you plan on using this Juki to make clothing items or items you would like to sell, this option will ensure that everything you make will be sturdy and made to last.
It helps too that the stitches are made to be even and consistent too, so you never have to worry about your work being anything less than professional.

Working Speed

You already know that this Juki works at a good speed, going through 1500 stitches per minute. You might think that this means it will be a loud machine, but we found that despite the speed of this machine, it was actually quite quiet.
Not only was the Juki quiet, but it was stable too. It didn’t move as we worked with it, and there were no problems when we fed larger and thicker fabrics through it either. Even when we were sewing leather or denim, the machine stayed stable.

Build Quality

The overall quality of the Juki is high. The materials are made to be strong, which means that you can keep this Juki for years without worrying about it breaking down. This is also what ensures that it doesn’t move when you use it.

Hard to Learn

Due to the fact that this Juki is a serger, it’s a little difficult to learn. If you don’t have much experience using this type of machine, you will find that it’s difficult to learn to set up, and the instructions are not very clear.
While there is an included instruction manual along with training guides and workbooks, it’s so detailed that it’s somewhat difficult to go through in a timely manner.
Most users find that it’s much easier to watch some YouTube videos to help you learn to use this machine. Even with the threading, you’ll want to watch a few videos to help you learn what to do, so while people find that the machine works great when they’ve gotten started, it takes a lot of time to figure it out.

The Juki has a lot of techniques that you can learn, but it does take time to switch between techniques. You might find that your sewing doesn’t necessarily go quickly as you try to switch stitches or techniques, since it will take you around 5 minutes at the least to change from one mode to another.
If you’re looking to go through a project quickly and you need a different mode or technique to get it done, you’ll likely find yourself pausing between modes.

You have a lot of options when it comes to your sewing machine. What matters is that you have a machine that can handle all the stitching you have in mind, and can work at the speed you desire. The Juki MO735 just might be the right machine for you then. While it does clock in at a higher price point, the price may not matter so much when you see how many stitch options you have and everything you can do with this Juki.
